The Holidays are here and they can be tough

While this season is often associated with joy, it can also bring up big emotions like stress, anxiety, and depression—especially for teens and young adults. Feelings of isolation, school-related anxiety, family pressures, and navigating relationships can make this time even more overwhelming.

Here are some things you can do for self-care during the holiday break:

  • Take breaks from screens: Unplugging from social media or excessive screen time can help reduce stress and improve mood.

  • Get moving: Physical activity, even a short walk, can boost endorphins and relieve tension.

  • Connect with someone: Reach out to a friend, family member, or trusted adult for support and connection.

  • Create a calming routine: Try journaling, listening to music, or practicing mindfulness to unwind.

  • Set small goals: Focus on manageable tasks to feel accomplished and in control.

  • Prioritize sleep: Good rest is essential for mental health and energy.
